$500 deposit due April 30, 2007.
Overview
Woburn Music will be travelling to Europe from February 29 to March 10, 2008. The main destinations include Prague, Vienna, Salzburg and Munich. While in Europe we will not be performing. Instead, we will be focusing on the regional music history provided by composers such as Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven and Strauss to name a few. We expect that there will be approximately 20 students going on the trip, together with teacher chaperones from the staff. All students participating in this trip must be registered in a music credit course for the school year 2007-2008.
Why travel with Woburn Music?
Students will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view the cities of central Europe with a musical perspective. In any international excursion, as representatives of Woburn and Canada, students also have the opportunity to take responsibility for their own actions (one of Woburn's 3Rs) in a unique supervised environment. Lastly, excursions foster cooperation and friendship among all participants.
Highlights
Students will spend three nights in Prague, two nights in Vienna, two nights at a youth hostel in Salzburg, and two nights in Munich. Guided tours will be provided in all four cities. While touring, students will have the privilege to visit Villa Bertramka, the House of Music, Schonbrunn Palace, Hohensalzburg, Salzbergwerk Salt Mine, Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and BMW Museum. In addition; students will have a backstage tour of the Vienna State Opera House, view an Opera at Schonbrunn Palace, and attend a concert at Hohensalzburg. For historical significance, students will be attending a guided "Hitler" tour, and visit the Dachau concentration camp. Additionally, students will tour the cities of Regensburg and Bayreuth.
Cost
The cost for this trip has been calculated at $3290 Canadian, based on a group of 16 students. This cost estimate includes all transportation and accommodations while in Europe, as well as all breakfasts and dinners while on tour. Also included are out-of-province medical insurance and cancellation insurance premiums. The cost of travel documentation is not covered (Canadian passport holders do not need a Visa to travel to any of the destinations, although landed immigrants need to confirm through their own Embassy or Consulate what documents are needed).
