Recent Woburn Music trips
In
April 2004, Woburn Music's tour to New Orleans featured swamp tours, a
performance at a local school, Cajun
dancing, a musical workshop at Loyola University, the city's main tourist
attractions, and a twilight cruise. You can read all about the individual
days and see many, many photos of the trip in the photo
diary of Stella Woo '05.

After a performance at a high school near Cobourg, WM headed to Montreal,
where we checked out
the acoustics in Notre Dame Basilica, visited the Old Town and watched
Cirque de Soleil, performed at centre ice at the Montreal Forum, and had
a band clinic at McGill Faculty of Music. RIGHT: It was a rockin' breakfast
at the Hard Rock Cafe. NEXT: Slumber party in the hotel hallway.

Our visit to Boston included a spectacular
evening at the Boston Pops, conducted by John Williams (composer of scores
for countless films including Star Wars and Schindler's List.)
We later met Mr Williams - a signed programme is displayed in Room 100
to this day.
Members of WM (and driver) at the
stern of the Privateer IV, off the port of Gloucester MA, where
we went whale watching.
The trip also included visits to
the New England Aquarium, Harvard University, and Salem MA, home of the
famous witch trials. Instrumentalists, dancers, and singers put on a show
at a retirement community outside Boston.

Our
last trip to Florida was also partnered with Campbell Collegiate; we performed
at the Magic Music Days festival at Disney World, then spent three days
taking in all the parks had to offer. Some students said the bus ride (30
h one way) was a 'bonding experience'.
