Your ensemble
Regardless of the course you are in, you will be a member of at least one ensemble. Grade 9 instrumentalists are part of a band, while Grade 9 vocalists are part of the Concert Choir. Both of these ensembles have rehearsals outside class time, and everyone is expected to attend these rehearsals. This is a requirement of the course. You will find that since you will be spending a lot of time with the members of your section and your ensemble, you will probably grow to enjoy the time you spend "working". Thousands of satisfied graduates can't be wrong!

Your teachers
WM is very fortunate to have dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic teachers who spend an enormous amount of time working to support and improve your experience with WM. Get to know your teacher and become comfortable asking them for help. They will know how to assist. If you have any questions (or even problems) with any aspect of your time here, don't hesistate to ask.

Your Council
WM has a student government (think SAC) called the Music Council that assists in the running of the department and often gets a say in how things are organized. Some members receive training in musical leadership. Everyone is welcome to run for a position on Council and share their opinions. You can also speak to Executive members of Council (senior leaders) who can assist you with many matters.

Your "culture"
You have become a member of a group with many traditions and rituals! You will gradually learn what these are... take the time to learn.
